Carrot flies are small insects that lay eggs on the roots of carrots and other related plants, such as parsnips, celery, and parsley. The larvae feed on the roots and cause them to rot and become inedible. Carrot flies cannot fly but they can jump.
A carrot netting fence kit helps gardeners protect their carrot crops from the damage caused by carrot flies. The kits can be made into any shape the length relates to the number of metres of netting and poles.
It protects your carrot crops from carrot fly infestation and ensures a healthy harvest. It is made of durable and high-quality materials that will last for many seasons. It is easy to set up and take down, and does not require any tools. It does not harm any beneficial insects or wildlife.
The kit consists of a fine mesh netting that goes around the carrot bed and prevents the carrot flies from reaching the plants. The netting is supported by poles and clips that are easy to install and remove. The netting also reduces the smell of carrots, which attracts the carrot flies.
Poles, netting, instructions and clips are all included.
If you want to create your own, use our netting, poles and clips in this store.
Our kits contain an extremely fine (0.27 x 0.88mm) mesh, 1.2m (4') high tubes and clips for the length you choose. The poles need to be pushed into the soil 20cm which will give you a 1m high fence.
