What is a Plum Moth trap used for?

The Plum Moth trap is a device used to control the population of Plum Moths.

Why are Plum Moth traps required?

The main cause of maggot damage to plums and gages is the caterpillar of the Plum Fruit Moth. Using this trap, you can save your fruit.

How does it work?

This Plum Fruit Moth Trap uses the 'Pheromone' scent of the female moth to attract and catch male moths.

When should the trap be used?

The trap should be placed in the garden at the end of May or after the petal drop. If the spring weather is exceptionally warm, or in sheltered urban gardens, it may be an advantage to install the trap in mid-May.

How many traps would I need?

In the garden, one trap should monitor up to 3 average size trees. It should be hung at around head height on the windward side of the tree (or group of trees).

Is it reusable?

The trap contains everything you need for a year and the refill allows for the use of the trap for a second year.
